Gayle  (Gay-lä) Jennings-O’Byrne is leveraging her 20+ years of finance, philanthropy, global lobbying and marketing to amplify social change.

Previously, Mrs. Jennings-O’Byrne was Vice President at JPMorgan Chase Global Philanthropy.  She was responsible for utilizing the firm’s global reach, expertise, relationships and access to capital to help communities address economic and social challenges. By investing in best-in-class workforce readiness, small business development, community development and financial capability programs, she created pathways to opportunity.

In 2013, JPMorgan Chase launched New Skills at Work, a $250 million initiative that is the largest private sector effort seeking to address the skills gap. She managed the tri-state (NY, NJ, CT) portfolio, one of the largest regions and assets under management for the initiative. Prior to philanthropy, she was Vice President, International Government Relations, managing global issues related to corporate finance and investment banking with respect to the firm's legislative and regulatory affairs. 

Mrs. Jennings-O’Byrne began her career at JPMorgan Chase as a Mergers and Acquisitions banker in 1998.  Prior to joining J.P. Morgan Securities Inc., Ms. Jennings-O’Byrne was a senior media relations manager for Sun Microsystems Computer Co. where her responsibilities included developing and implementing global publicity and marketing programs.  

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Economics from the Wharton School of Business

  • Masters in business administration (MBA) from The University of Michigan Business School.

  • Study programs at National University of Singapore, the City of London Polytechnic and in Israel for the Israeli Tourism Dept.

Advisory boards served on include Ghetto Film School, the Cinema High School, the Eagle Academy Foundation and the Scholastic Family and Community Engagement (FACE) Advisory Council,ClimateDonor.org. She recently joined the advisory board of WE NYC (Women Entrepreneurs NYC) We.NYC , an initiative based out of the New York City Department of Small Business Services that is dedicated to helping women start and grow their businesses.
 

She is married to David O’Byrne and resides in New York City, where she bikes, sails, plays golf and supports the arts and emerging artists.
